Prakriya meaning “Following Nature’s Wisdom” is derived from the root Sanskrit word “Prakruti” meaning “Nature”. Prakriya also means “Process”.
So, Prakriya -“the green wisdom school”, was envisioned as a school that seriously respects the wisdom of nature within ourselves as well as in our environment. Prakriya is anchored by a group of people who believe that education in schools must have as a setting a community of concerned, warm, and enthusiastic people and a campus which is interesting to children, gives them space for free expression and of course is green with a large variety of plants and trees.

A.V. Education Society began its journey in 1967 with 50 children and a rented house in Jayanagar. Smt. Ambuja Venkataraman, the Founder Secretary, grew up in a time when education was available mainly to the rich.
